Invisoclam tunes you into
"Radio Mars" by Maggotron.
Ok, so where do I begin? First
off this is the same song that was released on Poor-Sight records under the name
of "The Maggotronics". Anyhow the movers and shakers at Fo'
Sight had no idea what DXJ was about as is evidenced by the mishandling of this
record. At the time No-Sight had a hit on their hands with "Beef Box"
by MC. Chief. DXJ presented the "Radio Mars" track as a sort of
"Computer Funk/Computer Pop" styled song and at first things were
cool, that is until everyone and their brother
The concept for this song is
based on the thought that since radio for the most part here in Miami and
elsewhere was boring and that perhaps somewhere out there in the universe there
would be a radio station that constantly played the qualified jamz!
This song was done almost as
soon as DXJ got his new Roland MSQ sequencer out of the box and hooked it
up!
On the seventh line in the
lyrics it says that "I am your DJ number six, eight, zero, nine" other
than filling space, it has a meaning, that is, if you add all of the numbers up
together 6+8+9+0 you get = 23 which at the time was DXJ's age! Whoa! Was that
deep or what! I'll give you all time to get over that one...
